Who writes this

Articles are published by Visa Decision as an organisation rather than under individual bylines. That is a deliberate choice, and it puts the burden of proof somewhere specific: every figure on this site is traceable to a named government source, and every page shows the date it was last checked against it.

We would rather you trusted the citation than the byline. If a figure here does not match the official portal we link, the page is wrong — and you can establish that in under a minute without knowing anything about who wrote it.

Where a page describes what a process is actually like in practice, that account is either contributed by someone who went through it and is labelled as such, or drawn from documented reports. We do not present second-hand accounts as first-hand ones.

How pages are sourced

Figures come from primary government sources. Every page links the sources it was checked against and shows the date of that check. Our verification process is documented separately.

Where sources conflict and we cannot resolve it, the page says so. We would rather publish "these two official figures disagree, confirm before applying" than present a confident number we cannot stand behind.

How this site makes money

Display advertising and affiliate links, primarily travel insurance and relocation services. Where a page contains an affiliate link, that link is marked.

We do not sell visa applications or immigration services. Most sites ranking for these searches are visa agencies whose business model depends on you paying them to file. That shapes what they tell you. We have no application to sell, which is why we can point you at the free official portal when that is genuinely the better route — as it often is.

Commercial relationships never determine what a page says. No advertiser or affiliate partner sees a page before it publishes or has any input into its conclusions.

Use of AI

We use AI tools for research assistance and drafting. Every page is checked against primary sources and read end to end by a human before publishing.

Accounts of what a process is actually like are never AI-generated. Those come from people who went through it, and are labelled as contributed or sourced. If we cannot attribute an account, we do not publish one.

Corrections

Errors are corrected promptly and logged publicly at /about/corrections/. Substantive corrections are noted on the affected page, not silently edited away.

Immigration and tax rules change without notice, and admission is always at the discretion of the deciding authority.
